The slow cooker or crock pot is one of the greatest inventions known to man. With little or no effort, you can have a hot, delicious cajun chicken creamy sauce nutritious meal whether you worked all day or were out running errands. With most slow cooker recipes, you cut and chop in the morning and turn on your crock pot to the required setting and let it simmer all day. Roasted dishes, such as cajun whole chicken or lamb, are a great idea because you can put them in the oven and not have to worry about them until cooking time is up. Be sure to add vegetables and spices to give your main course added dimension. One of my favourites is a Greek roast lamb, called a 'lazy roast' on the BBC website. As I stated, it does work but it's much more complicated than it looked on TV. I've tried other recipes including mini meatloaves and they work but like the chicken, each one requires more steps than I consider convenient. And, I have never attempted to cook frozen food and have it done in the short time promised. The potential for food cooked on the outside but raw in the middle seemed too great so I've never tried.

Price - Chili's slow cooker whole chicken and stuffing Pasta used to be a little under $10 on the restaurant menu. It now costs $11.29 which is slightly higher than many other menu options. This meal is still affordable compared to high end restaurants and eateries located in shopping districts. I once ordered a Chili's Cajun Chicken Pasta meal and two drinks without spending over $20. That may be the cost of four value meals at many fast food restaurants. However, the quality of Chili's Cajun Chicken Pasta justifies the price.

Grow your own. Whether it be a window box or an allotment, growing your own veg, fruit or even herbs can save you a stash of cash. Beyond that, there is nothing better than eating veg that you have grown, and just picked. It doesn't get much better and fresher than that. Herbs cost a fortune in supermarkets in particular, so try growing a couple of your favourites so they are always on hand to jazz up your meals. I have just found Allotinabox , delivering grow your own boxes to your door. Great idea!

Dough options are Original, Parmesan, Peppercorn, Sesame Seed, and Honey Wheat. Sauce options are Original, BBQ, pesto, creamy garlic butter, zesty alfredo. One of my favorites is the parmesan crust with alfredo or creamy garlic butter sauce with grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese. I am drooling at the thought!
